A K-series VTEC gasket, also known as the VTEC solenoid gasket, is a high-temperature, oil-resistant fluororubber seal on the VTEC solenoid that prevents engine oil leaks, particularly under the high pressure and heat generated during VTEC engagement. These convoluted, rubbery O-rings are a common source of oil leaks in K-series engines, which can lead to misfires and reduced engine performance if not replaced during regular maintenance.
